SPV Energy installs solar panels on school roofs across Ireland and helps you access the grants your school qualifies for, from the Solar for Schools Programme to SEAI grants. One SEAI-registered team designs, installs and looks after the whole system.

No chain of subcontractors. One SEAI-registered team surveys, designs, installs, monitors and maintains your school’s solar, and helps you claim the grants you’re entitled to.

Can't recomend these guys enough. Did an absolutely fantastic job on my solar install and spent plenty of time prior to it making sure I got the right system for my needs. They were also coming in the cheapest too with a quick installation turn around. A1. Thanks again!Posted on Google![]()

I don’t like giving reviews because quality can change over time at a company. However, I can say the job they did in March 2025 was faultless. Attention to detail was superb to hide as much wiring as possible. Delighted with the result. I’ll use them again if I need a car charger in future.Posted on Google![]()

Lower electricity bills free up money for teaching, resources and the school itself, year after year.
A display screen shows pupils the real electricity the school is generating, ready for science and sustainability lessons.
Cut the school's carbon and give your Green-Schools efforts something visible on the roof.
Schools use most of their electricity during the day, exactly when the panels are generating, so little goes to waste.
The panels are built to last 25 years or more and need almost no maintenance once fitted.
When the school closes for summer, you get paid for the spare electricity you export to the grid.

Smaller roofs and daytime use suit a right-sized system well, and most primary schools qualify for grant support.
Bigger roofs and higher demand can carry larger systems, with NDMG or BEC grants covering capacity beyond the funded band.
Eligible for the same grant support, with installs planned sensitively and quietly around the needs of the setting.
Multi-site bodies and colleges can combine funding routes across a campus or estate for a bigger rollout.
Ask for a quote and we survey the school. Nothing is charged to see what suits you.
We confirm the grants your school qualifies for and prepare the paperwork with you, so staff do very little.
We fit during quiet periods and holidays, with a clear date agreed up front.
One team keeps the system running and supported long after it’s switched on.
Solar for businesses and farms, with NDMG grant support and a clear route to payback.
Cost depends on system size, but grants bring it down sharply. Eligible schools can get up to 6 kWp funded through the Solar for Schools Programme, and larger systems attract SEAI NDMG support at 45% of eligible costs until 6 July 2027, or BEC grant support. We give you a clear quote for your school.
Schools can access the Solar for Schools Programme for systems up to 6 kWp, the SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant for larger systems, now paying 45% of eligible costs on new applications made before 6 July 2027, and the BEC community grant of up to 50% for joint projects. We confirm which routes fit your school.
Yes. We confirm your funding route and prepare the grant and procurement documents with you, so there’s very little for your staff to do.
Yes. Schools that need more can go beyond 6 kWp using the SEAI Non-Domestic Microgen Grant, which now pays 45% of eligible costs on new applications made before 6 July 2027. At school scale that is €13,200 on a 20 kWp system and €25,200 on a 50 kWp system, roughly double the previous rates, subject to eligibility.
Very little. We plan the work around school hours and holidays, agree a clear schedule in advance, and keep the working area away from pupils.
In most cases, no. Rooftop solar on schools is largely exempt under S.I. 493/2022, with limits only in the Solar Safeguarding Zones near airports.
A 6 kWp system saves a school roughly €1,200 to €1,600 a year, including export credit, based on Department of Education estimates. Larger systems save more, and savings continue for the 25-year-plus life of the panels.
Tell us about your school and we’ll send a clear quote and the grants your school can claim. No obligation.
